Mercè joined Abac Capital in 2015. Prior to joining Abac Capital, she worked at Dogi International Fabrics for 17 years in the Finance Department, where she became Group Financial Controller. She was previously a Financial Controller in Hutchinson. Mercè holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Barcelona).
Oriol joined Abac Capital full-time in 2024 after completing his internship. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he interned at the Equity Research department at Santander Corporate & Investment Banking in Madrid. Oriol holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Barcelona) and did his exchange programme at the National University of Singapore.
Prior to joining Abac Nest, Marta developed her professional career as an Investment Director at BStartup (Banco Sabadell), an investment vehicle for early-stage startups. Prior to BStartup, Marta worked as the Manager of the Business Angels Network and as Director of Entrepreneurship at ESADE Business School. Marta holds a Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and an Executive MBA at ESADE Business School
Josep joined Abac Capital in 2024. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he worked in management consulting at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and interned at Cerberus Capital Management, an international private equity fund, and at Restaurant Brands International. Josep holds a degree in Business Administration from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) and an MBA from London Business School (London).
Federico joined Abac Capital in 2019. Before joining Abac Capital, he worked at PAI partners for 12 years where he was a Partner and head of the Investment Group. Prior to joining PAI partners, he was a Director in Merrill Lynch Investment Banking and an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group. Federico holds a degree in Applied Economics from K.U. Leuven (Belgium) and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Ariadna joined Abac Capital in 2016. Prior to joining Abac, she worked in several companies as an executive assistant, such as Ribé Salat. Ariadna holds a Certificate of Higher Education in Protocol and IIRR from the Escuela Superior de Protocolo y Relaciones Institucionales ESPRI.
Marc joined Abac Capital full-time in 2016 after completing his internship. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he interned at the Finance division of Vodafone in Luxembourg. Marc holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona) and a Master of Science in Management from HEC Business School (Paris).
Pol joined Abac Capital in 2017. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he worked at Delta Partners Capital, a growth equity fund focused on emerging markets in Dubai. Prior to this he worked in the investment banking division at Credit Suisse in New York and in strategy consulting focused on the Telecom, Media and Digital industries at Delta Partners in Dubai. Pol holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona), an MSc in Executive Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris and an MBA from Harvard Business School (Boston).
Germán joined Abac Capital in 2016. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he worked in Spanish mid-market private equity firm Hiperion Capital in Madrid focused on turnaround and special situations investments, and at KPMG Advisory in the Transaction Services and Audit divisions in Madrid. Germán holds a Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Navarra and a master’s degree from IE Business School.
Júlia joined Abac Capital in 2024, after working as a Process Technician at NTT Data, where she collaborated in the Naturgy project. Previously, she worked as Back Office and Sales Order Process Agent in different companies, such as Ricoh. She is currently completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, which includes journalism, advertising, public relations and audiovisual communication. In addition, she is a Senior Technician in Audiovisual Project Production and Show Management.
Borja co-founded Abac Capital in 2014. Before co-founding Abac Capital, he worked at Apax Partners for 13 years as a Partner in the tech & telecom team globally and as a generalist covering the Spanish market since 2004. Prior to joining Apax Partners, he was a Summer Associate at Goldman Sachs and an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group. Borja holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Barcelona) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (Boston), where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
Valdesca joined Abac in 2024 as Head of Fundraising & Investor Relations. She previously worked at Alantra Partners as Managing Director for 15 years, at BBVA, BNP Paribas (Paris) and JP Morgan (London). She has more than 25 years of international experience in Fundraising, Capital Markets & Alternative Assets (private equity, venture capital, private debt, real estate and infrastructure). Valdesca holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE and an executive MBA program for IESE (BBVA).
Maria joined Abac Capital in 2022. Before joining Abac Capital, she worked at Deloitte as a Senior Auditor for 4 years. Prior to that she interned at an engineering company and in a non-profit organisation in Peru, CCAJO Asociación Jesús Obrero. Maria holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Barcelona).
Lluís joined Abac Capital in 2015. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he worked in the private equity arm of industrial conglomerate Mitsui & Co in London, in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division in London and at automotive supplier Continental in Frankfurt and Tokyo. Lluís holds an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from La Salle University (Barcelona) and an MBA from IESE Business School (Barcelona)
Anna joined Abac Capital full-time in 2019 after completing her internship. Prior to joining Abac Capital, she interned at Ulabox, an e-commerce start-up, and in a non-profit organisation in Peru. Anna holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Barcelona) and did her exchange programme at the University of British Columbia (Canada), where she specialised in Sustainability.
Miquel joined Abac Capital full-time in 2023 after completing his internship. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he interned at the Corporate – M&A department at Garrigues, and at Endurance Partners, a special situations Private Equity in Barcelona. Miquel holds a double degree in Business Administration and Law from ESADE (Barcelona) and did his exchange programme at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
Joan Pina is a partner at Abac Nest and the head of Abac Fast Forward, a platform to create sustainable value for our portfolio companies in the private equity funds. He has been part of Abac since 2017, where he has led investments in early-stage technology companies. Prior to joining Abac, Joan founded four digital companies, including a fintech and insurtech company, and held the position of owner and CEO at Let’s Bonus sold to a subsidiary of Amazon. Previously, he developed his professional career at PwC in New York, Dublin and Barcelona. Joan holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Barcelona and participated in an Executive Development program at IESE Business School.
Oriol co-founded Abac Capital in 2014. Before Abac, he worked at Apax Partners for 15 years as an Equity Partner, Head of the Spanish office and Co-Head of the global retail & consumer team. Prior to Apax, he worked at Merrill Lynch and at the Boston Consulting Group. He is the Chairman of SpainCap, the Spanish VC & PE Association. He currently collaborates with and is a board member of several non-profit organizations, including the Barcelona School of Economics, the HBS Club de Barcelona of which he is President, Barcelona Global and FemCat of which he is Vice President, the Pere Tarrés Foundation, and ACG. Oriol holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Barcelona), a CEMS Master from HEC (Paris) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (Boston), where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
Cristina joined Abac Capital in 2019. Before joining Abac Capital, she worked at Guzmán Gastronomía as Head of Administration. Prior to that she worked for 6 years at Playasol Ibiza Hotels as a Financial Controller and for 5 years at Deloitte as an Auditor. Cristina holds a degree in Business Administration from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).
In memoriam. Javier passed away in 2020, but his legacy will always be with us. Prior to co-founding Abac Capital in 2014 where he was a Senior Partner and Chief Compliance Officer, he worked at Apax Partners for 12 years as a Principal in the Retail & Consumer team. While at Apax, Javier was seconded for over a year in several portfolio companies and held a number of portfolio company directorships. He started his career as an Analyst in Granville Baird’s M&A division. Javier held a degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Barcelona) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (Boston).
Xavier joined Abac Capital full-time in 2018 after completing his internship. Prior to joining Abac Capital, he interned at the Minsait’s transportation and logistics consulting division, ALG. Xavier holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UPC (Barcelona) and a Master of Science in Management from HEC Business School (Paris).
Rosa is secretary to the Board of Directors and Legal and Compliance Officer at Abac Capital. She joined Abac in 2017 from private practice, developing her career in the Corporate, M&A and Banking & Finance fields in top tier international law firms based in Barcelona, London and Frankfurt. She is solicitor registered with the Law Society of England and Wales and with the Barcelona Bar Association. She received her master’s degree in International Business Law from ESADE and she was a British Council scholar in the European Young Lawyers Scheme 2005 (Edinburgh).
